We strive to improve, Education in Northern Uganda
Under this thematic area, Mission Uganda works with both children and youth undertaking in school formal education (children) and out of school youth on vocational skills development/ hands-on skills. In the formal educational setup, we work with patrons and matrons on menstrual hygiene management of adolescent girls, accessibility routes for in school children with disabilities (CWDs) and life skilling sessions to boys and girls. Mission Uganda is equally very cognisant of the value of vocational skills training as an alternative pathway to not only employment but sustainable livelihoods to the youth. Selected out of school youth are enrolled in the sections of tailoring, hairdressing (saloon), carpentry, motorcycle/vehicle mechanics, bakery and electronics using both local artisans as well as registered vocational skills training institutions.
